Investment in Gozo
In order to increase jobs in Gozo, the government is offering to refund 30% of a worker’s salary up to €6,000 if they are offered a contract of three years or more.
The second fibre optic cable will be laid between the two islands.
Funds will be allocated to create a specific scheme for Gozitan entrepreneurs operating in the tourism sector to improve the level of touristic establishments.
The government is also designing master plans for the holistic embellishment of Xlendi and Marsalforn.
Thematic festivals will be promoted in order to stimulate a new touristic niche through artistic production.
The former MDP building will be turned into a research and ICT hub and new office space will be created in the Xewkija industrial zone to attract more investment to Gozo.
Capital projects such as those at Dar San Franġisk and the Dar tal-Anzjani will be continued and finalised.
New projects will include the experimental farm, which is going to have new facilities for farmers and fishermen, the re-organisation of the Yacht Marina, and the restoration of the tal-Ġordan lighthouse and ancillary amenities in order to put Gozo on the map for tourism in regards to lanterns.
Studies on the proposed Malta to Gozo undersea tunnel will continue.
