- Rabat: Marsaskala: Player of the match: Referee:

Rabat Marsaskala 4 1

Rabat proved to be a very strong outfit for Marsaskala as they created more actions than their opponents.

They are now leading the table on maximum points from 3 games while Marsaskala are third from bottom with only 2 points, also from 3 games.

The White/Blacks were first to threaten as Andre’ Debattista dribbled past an opponent outside the area and he missed the upright from the distance.

At the other end Andrew Rian released Lamine Chokoroba on the right flank and after his cross in the area, Giorgo Dolce failed to get his head to the ball.

Rabat forged ahead in the 13th minute when Tristan Schembri dribbled past an opponent on the right flank and after his cross in the area, Aydan Zammit scored with a low shot past Marsaskala keeper Zack Cocker.

Marsaskala restored parity in the 28th minute when a cross from the right flank by Rian created havoc in Rabat’s area and in the melee that ensued, Dolce scored with a hard rising shot past a helpless Rabat keeper Gabriel Gauci.

The last action before the break was also created by Rabat as Debattista released Schembri in the area but Cocker foiled him with a timely sortie.

Five minutes into the second half, Rabat restored their slender lead when Robbie Fenech was fouled on the right flank and Debattista scored direct from the free kick with a hard rising shot from 30 metres.

In the 63rd minute Rabat scored a third goal as Triston Schembri served Zammit with a square pass outside the edge of the area and he scored a beauty with a hard rising shot.

A minute before the end of normal time the score became 4-1 as substitute Miguel Ciantar dribbled past an opponent and scored with a low shot after entering the area.
