Impressive Pieta hit San Gwann for six

- San Ġwann: Pieta H.: Referee:

San Gwann Pieta H 0 6

Pieta were in outstanding form yesterday as they demolished San Gwann 6-0 in a one sided affair.

Clive Gauci was Pieta’s hero as he scored a hat trick, but Gabriel Mensah stood out with a five star performance that man a times left the San Gwann defenders gasping.

Pieta went all out for an early goal but had to wait till the fourteenth minute to forge ahead thanks to Clive Gauci’s first strike.

On 34 minutes Pieta doubled the score with a breath taking move that was finished off by defender Christian Degabriele.

Three minutes later San Gwann’s defence was caught napping and Clive Gauci scored his second goal slotting home from close range.

San Gwann were now in a free fall and Pieta kept pressing for more goals and they added a fourth five minutes from the break when central defender Ruiz Perez won a ball in midfield and squared with Neil pace Cocks, another player in brilliant form yesterday, with Ruiz Perez receiving the return pass and beating the helpless Bartolo for the fourth time.

However Pieta were still good enough to add further goals to make it half a dozen by the final whistle.

On 70 minutes Gabriel Mensah dribbled past a couple of defenders before serving Clive Gauci who did not miss the golden opportunity to notch his hat trick.

Five minutes later Gabriel Mensah did all by himself and was rewarded for his efforts when he scored the sixth and final goal after another solo run.
