Dingli and Wardija obtain good wins to keep leaders Marsa in sight

-

In the MAPFRE /MSV Life Masters Premier League, Dingli Desana and Wardija registered good wins to keep leaders Marsa in sight.

Champions Mosta and B’kara continued their bad stretch this season.

Desana were too good against a depleted B’Kara side who also had Willliam Camenzuli suspended. Desana won 10-4; Simon Shead with 5 and Malcolm Licari with four goals being the main protoganists.

Shead increased his total as top scorer in the league so far.

Desana are very strong, playing lively and direct football. With the top three so very close, the second round shoud be interesting and exciting.

Wardija beat Mosta Shaggy 6-4 to get back in contention after losing their last game.

It was a balanced encounter until the last ten minutes with Mosta leading 4-3. However, they suffered three quick goals and lost the game. Both teams had some regular players missing due to injury.

Massimo Schembri again had a good performance for Wardija, not only scoring twice, but also being an inspiration to his colleagues.

Mosta lost everything in the last few minutes. With Tarik getting back in the MFA league with Msida, they struggled to conclude their attacks, relying only on the abilty of Stefan Sultana. Bulgarian goalkeeper Mirchev Vanyo again had a good game, making some excellent saves.

In the CISK MASTERS Division One, Zabbar got their first point in an exciting draw with Tal-Qroqq 7-7. Zabbar played their best game for quite a while, but threw away a 4-0 lead which they administered at the end of the first half.

At one time in the second half, they were 7-3 ahead. However, in the second 30 minutes, TalQroqq recovered well, scoring four times in the last ten minutes to get a merited point. This was the second draw for Tal-Qroqq in the league so far.
