San Gwann too strong for nine-man Rabat

- Rabat A.: San Gwann: Referee:

Rabat A San Gwann 1 5

San Gwann quickly forgot their dismal defeat against Pieta in their last outing, when they inflicted a heavy defeat on Rabat Ajax who played the whole second half with nine players.

To be fair san gwann were the better team even when Rabat were still in full force, but the match was really a no contest with San Gwann always in full command and with Rabat always on the receiving end.

San Gwann took the lead after barely seven minutes play when Andre Cachia beat the Rabat custodian with a low drive.

Six minutes later Rabet were down to ten men when Dylan Falzon received a second booking.

San Gwann were now all over the place trying to take advantage of theiur numerical superiority, and they doubled the score on 29 minutes when Alan Borg headed home a Tanti freekick.

Two minutes later San Gwann wrapped the match up with anothet header this time from Thiago Lopes De Souza.

Some minutes later Rabat were furthet in trouble when Ryan Micallef was shown a straight red card.

San Gwann did not push on the resumption but were still good enough to add two further goals through Andrew Abela on 68 minutes and Mikas Kura nine minutes later after a fast break.

Just before the final whistle, Rabat scored a consolation goal when substitute Chris Vella beat Bartolo with alow drive.
