Hibs also take their place in the semis

-

Hibernians 59 Marvels Power 43 (18-10, 17-6, 13-12, 11-15)

Hibs were meeting Marvels for the second time getting their second victory not so hard fought as the previous one.

They had Luke Farrugia in the side to boost their play whilst Marvels were missing Darryl Pisani, Darren Debattista and Keith Tedesco but introduced a new foreigner, the Serbian Dejan Mitrovic.

Hibs went straight into an advantage with an early 12-2 run as Farrugia made his triple. Marvels began to put in their hoops but always found the Paolites in reply every time to hold on to their lead.

The next session had Marvels with a Nicola Guida triple but Hibs then proceeded to dominate the period as they pulled away from their opponents with a long 17-2 run as Paul Attard sank a trey and Luca Tardito and Isaac Bonett made their points.

At the interval, the Paolites were on a 35-16 advantage.

After the break, Marvels managed a 7-2 start with more Guida points. Hibs made up a three hoop spread but Glen Borg nailed a Marvels triple.

At the other end it was Tardito with a late trey as his side went to a 48-28 advantage.

In the last session, it was Attard with his second trey for the Paolites but Marvels then took advantage of some slack Hibs play to make up a steady 13-0 run with Guida and Christian Briffa points.

They were still at a distance and Hibs ended the match on a 7-2 run as Eman Xuereb closed down the scoring with his triple.
