Senglea face Lija in relegation clash this evening

- Centenary Stadium: Tomorrow Hibernians Stadium: Victor Tedesco Stadium: Sunday National Stadium:

Tenth placed Senglea Athletic will be facing bottom club Lija Athletic this evening in the first match of the 16th round.

The match is being played at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali and kicks off at 7pm.

It is obviously a relegation battle, especially for Lija, who need to start winning points badly if they are to retain their status among the island’s elite.

After 15 matches, Lija have collected just five points and, at present, are considered by everyone as one of the favourites for the Big Drop back to the first division.

Yet, not everything is lost yet as there are still 11 matches to be played till the end of the campaign.

However, their form is far from convincing and their defence needs to stop conceding goals that should be avoided.

Senglea lie five points above the relegation zone and a victory this evening will push them to a healthier placing.

Against Valletta last weekend, they proved to be a well organised side, especially at the back, but they lacked the finishing touch when they moved upfield.
