Laferla White Hart 2 Rabat Depiro 2

Umpires: John Williams, Nathan Galea

White Hart went ahead on 10 minutes when Charlot Sammut netted as a result of a penalty corner action.

From then on both teams gave their all, producing end to end entertaining fare and coming close to scoring on more than one occasion.

On 27 minutes Rabat were awarded a penalty corner and Shawn Falzon scored to equalize.

A minute before half time, Falzon grabbed his second goal to send Rabat into a 2 -1 lead.

Two minutes into the second half Glen Bonello shot home to level for White Hart.

Both teams strove hard to break the impasse by using the flanks yet missed chances along the way.

The game came to an end with no clear victor emerging and the spoils being shared.

Lightshop Hotsticks 1 Floriana Young Stars 1

Umpires: Luke Busuttil Leaver, Keith Calleja

This encounter produced a cagey affair with quite a number of passes going astray throughout the match.

Hotsticks did not avail themselves of two penalty corner awards in the first 6 minutes while similarly Young Stars were awarded four penalty corners between the 8th and 10th minutes but could not open the score.

On 12 minutes Hotsticks had a shot smothered by the Young Stars custodian, the ball hitting the top of the post after bouncing off his pads.

On 22 minutes Mark Camilleri shot home to send Young Stars into a 1 – 0 lead which they held up to half time.

Hotsticks piled on the pressure in the second half with their customary possession tactics, while Young Stars depended on counter attacks down the flanks.

However six penalty corners won by Hotsticks were still not enough to break down the solid defensive wall put up by Young Stars.

As the clock wore down to the final whistle Jonathan Borg equalized for Hotsticks in what proved to be a hotly disputed decision, leaving Young Stars smarting under the collar.
