Saints win five-goal thriller

doubled their lead when Motschebac­ker controlled the ball after a defensive indecision and after advancing from his own half and with Falzon out of his charge, he lobbed the ball into an empty net.

In the 20th minute Balzan reduced the gap when Luca Zammit served Miguel Busuttil with a high through ball in the area and he scored with a header past St Andrew keeper Sam Zahra.

Three minutes before the break Balzan equalised when Ayrton Azzopardi dribbled past an opponent outside the area and served Busuttil with a through ball in the area who scored with a hard low drive.

Balzan created the first action after the restart when from a flag kick by Luca Zammit the ball was partly cleared outside the area and the same player drove slightly over the bar from the rebound.

In the 42nd minute St Andrew scored their third goal as Mattias Ellul controlled the ball after a faulty pass by Luca Zammit in Balzan’s half who after advancing in the area and he scored with a hard rising shot.

In an action by Balzan, Busuttil was fouled in midfield and after the free kick by Craig Borg, Zahra saved a shot from the edge of the area by Luca Zammit.

St Andrew kept more.

Cassar Torreggian­i was fouled outside the area and Falzon saved from the free kick by Reece Galea.

Cassar Torreggian­i served Galea in the area and after Falzon partly saved his shot the rebound by Spiteri was cleared to a corner.

Spiteri then served Andrew Sultana with a high cross in the area from the right flank but he missed the upright with his header. trying
