St Andrew Balzan 3 2

A very keen and exciting game. Balzan managed to equalise after being two goals in arrears but in the end St Andrew had the last laugh by winning by the odd goal in five and they lead the standings on 20 points from 9 games while Balzan are in fifth position on 10 points from same number of games.

St Andrew started on the offensive. Sebastian Cassar Torreggiani released Jacob Motschebacker on the right flank and after his cross in the area Balzan keeper Isaac Falzon partly saved a shot by Alexander Spiteri and the ball was cleared away.

In the 3rd minute they opened the score as Reece Galea scored direct from a corner kick with a perfect high screw shot past a helpless Falzon.

In Balzan’s first action Eric Atkins served Gabriel Farrugia with a through ball on the left flank but Reece Galea foiled him with a perfect timely tackle.
