Duncan Micallef will be re-running entire championship this year
Duncan Micallef, the reigning Champion of The International Federation of Automobile (FIA) Top Fuel Dragster, confirmed that he will be re-running the entire championship once again this year.
During an activity at a hotel in St. Julian’s, Micallef exhibited the four trophies won during 2017, a gesture appreciated by his sponsors that were present when he announced this news.
Micallef explained that is not easy for anyone non-professional driver to make two consecutive championships, but with support he found by his team, his sponsors and the car owners have made this an easier decision for him.
This good news was welcome by the many fans who follow Duncan - both locals and foreigners.
The sponsors behind Duncan 2017 were Bajada New Energy, JP Portelli Projects, Mobile Total and Kamtech. They have all confirmed their support once again for 2018.
This means that the international commitments for Duncan will start on 27th till the 29 of May in Santa Pod in UK, then between the 17 and 18 June at Tierp Arena in Sweden, on 1 and 2 July at Alastaro in Finland, on 19 and 20 August at Hockenheim in Germany, on 26 and 27 August again at Tierp Arena in Sweden, and the sixth and final round at Santa Pod in the UK on 9 and 10 September. Apart from these six rounds, Duncan will be having two training sessions abroad.
The first appearance for Duncan in his Top Fuel dragster this year will be in the first round of the Maltese Drag Racing Championship organised by the Malta Drag Racing Association at their raceway at Hal Far on 24 and 25 March. This is a wonderful experience for the whole family that no Maltese should miss.
