Qormi Daikin maintain their lead in the league table

Qormi broke down Rabat’s resistance in the end with two goals late in the second half, but Rabat gave their all during the encounter.

Qormi used their usual tactical system of possession but only went ahead on 33 minutes when Steve Tanti pushed home from close range to give them a slender 1-0 lead at half time.

Shawn Dimech notched Qormi’s second on 46 minutes while on 60 minutes Tanti hit the post after receiving an assist from Thomas Degiovanni.

On 64 minutes Juan Sarcia extended Qormi’s lead to 3-0 with a crisp finish as a result of a penalty corner award and two minutes before the final whistle blew, Keith Bajada grabbed his team’s fourth to help maintain their lead in the championship race.

Hotsticks took the lead early in the match when on 10 minutes Lukas Plaehn slotted home.

Just two minutes later Alessandro Amore doubled the lead hitting a bullet from the top of the D.

On 23 minutes Julian Zahra scored to send Hotsticks into a 30 lead.

On 29 minutes Emile Borg, Hotsticks custodian, affected a double save from close range off a David Agius effort.

The half time whistle blowing with Hotsticks maintaining their advantage.

Hotsticks dominated proceedings in the second half and went 4 -0 up on 44 minutes when Jonathan Borg netted.

Zahra scored his second to increase Hotsticks’ tally to five on 58 minutes. A minute later Agius scored to reduce the deficit to 5- 1 and on 65 minutes Andrew Monaghan scored White Hart’s second goal.

Borg scored his second and Hotsticks’ sixth three minutes from time to give his team a comfortable victory.
