Championsh­ip wide open as Marsa WS lose

The match between Dingli Desana and Marsa White Stars – abandoned recently due to heavy rain – was resumed with Dingli leading 3-1.

Dingli continued to dominate and merited their important 8-4 win. With this win Desana not only made amends for the loss they suffered in the first round, but they opened the championsh­ip title issue wide.

With such a result, Wardija are also now a team to be rekoned with for the title.

Playing one of their best games, Dingli showed their potential with a complete set of experience­d players. Defendng well and having a formidabe attack they played some attracting moves with Simon Shead the great finisher, scoring no less than six goals - he is almost sure to finish as top scorer of the league.

Marsa White Stars tried hard but with Gilbert Scerri well marked, they could not keep up with their opponents.

In the CISK Division One league, Valletta after suffering their only loss in their last game against Tal-Qroqq, returned to winning ways beating Targa Gap 7-3.

JIVAL registered a good 9-3 win against Tal-Qroqq to make sure that they keep pace with the leaders as they are still with a chance to fight for promotion.

Melita played their last game to finish their commitment­s after beating Zurrieq Wolves 4-2 in an interestin­g game.
