Restaurnat Guide Sicilian and Maltese Restaurants

- Gianna Bozzali

Is it pssible that a Restaurant Guide be the inspiration for a journey? And is it possible that a Guide can also unite two islands so diverse in culture, language and traditions but who share the same sea?

The most recent edition of the Restaurants Guide ‘’ Sicilia da Gustare’’ edited by Carmelo Pagano has succeded in doing all this. Through this little guide book Carmelo realised his dream in publishing this guide full of advice of where to go and visit great and exciting Restaurants. Through this Guide the Sicilian readers now know Malta better then ever before and vice versa the Maltese have a better knowledge of Sicily’s great eating places.

The Guide is very well distributed because one can find this Guide first and foremost in all the restuarants in both Sicily and Malta that are listed in it. Furthermore its available on the Virst Ferry and Air Malta and the forthcoming Editiion will once again be distributed in Sicily with Italy’s top financial paper Sole24 and in Malta with the Malta Independent.

The last Edition was so the first time that Maltese restaurnats were inluded and this was so welcome that the plan is the more Maltese Restaurants will be inlcuded in the next edition. In this manner combining a holiday between Malta and Sicily will become more attractive.

‘’The Guide will serve even more now to unite this two islands in various spheres including culture and cusine’’ claims the Guide’s editor Carmelo Pagano. The cusine on both side of the mediterranean sea has to be based on top quality products and quality chefs.

The Editor whishes to thank amongst the many who have helped in this venture both Gavin Gulia Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority and Carlo Micallef.
