-

Marvels Power 53 Siggiewi 57 (13-22, 14-16, 11-8, 15-11)

Both lowly sides were coming from a victory, and it was Siggiewi who made it back to back wins, with their fifth league win, taking them to a more safer midtable position, after their vicotry over Starlites, whilst Marvels couldn't improve on their win over Libertas, but they were close to their opponents, at the end. Marvels had to make do without their Italian, Nicola Guida, who had an injured shoulder. Siggiewi were without two of their foreigners, the Serbian, Alaex Novakovic, injured in training, and the Greek, Konstantinos Avratinakis, missing after surgery.

Siggiewi opened up a good advantage, after the opening session, as Italian, Roberto alosco, sank three triples, and Serbian, Milan Nedic, made a trio of hoops, along with a Hibert Agius brace of basketa. Marvels had Luke Azzopardi with a trey.

In the second session it was Nedic, for Siggiewi, with more points, and JP Antoncic put in three hoops, but Marvels countered with Christian Briffa points, and Azzopardi sank two more triples. At the interval Siggiewi were on a 38-27 advantage.

After the break Marvels made up an 8-2 run, as Quintin Bugeja and Darren debattista put in treys, but Jhunjhun Lisandaur, Siggiewi's Philippine player, also made a triple. Both sides had two more hoops, as Siggiewi were still in fornt, on a 46-38 score. In the last quarter Azzopardi managed a fourth triple, for Marvels, but more Nedic hoops had Siggiewi on a double figure lead. Andrew morris, the Marvels Welsh player, nailed a couple of treys, and marvels went close, but Siggiewi kept a four point margin ahead of their adversaries, to claim their win.
