Christabelle films her Eurovision postcard on horse ranch
Christabelle, the 2018 Maltese Eurovision hopeful, travelled to Portugal recently in order to film her Eurovision postcard, namely to Alter do Chão.
The delegations and participants of the 43 participating countries at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be travelling to Portugal prior to the contest in order to film their respective presentation postcards. Each artist will be portrayed in an activity or a challenge.
The postcards will showcase the beauty of Portugal and will portray the Eurovision artists enjoying the sights and sounds of the host country.
The presentation postcards serve as a massive platform for the host country to promote its tourism and showcase itself on a global scale as millions of viewers tune in to watch Europe’s favourite television show. The Eurovision Song Contest reaches households beyond Europe, from Australia to Argentina, China to New Zealand, and the USA to India.
The Maltese postcard has been filmed at Alter do Chão and depicts Christabelle on a horse ranch. The backdrop of Christabelle’s Eurovision postcard will depict the iconic Coudelaria de Alter do Chão and the magnificent landscapes of Alto Alentejo.
The postcard will showcase a riding instructor waiting for Christabelle. After meeting up with the Maltese Eurovision hopeful, he takes her on a unique and unforgettable journey by giving her a special lesson in riding.
Christabelle had the opportunity to admire Tofu, a Lusitanian horse. She visited the horse ranch, museum and stables.
Christabelle commented after filming her postcard: “It was fantastic and I even made a new four-legged friend, Tofu, not to mention all the Portuguese people I met; very hospitable. The postcard was filmed in a beautiful place in Alter do Chão and we spent two very good days. In Lisbon, it was also amazing – the architecture and the food. Cannot wait to go back!
