Balkan Fusion stay in top position, after century victory over Starlites

Balkan made their intentions clear from the start, denying their opponents, and piling up the score.

They eased after the interval, with Starlites not so stifled as before.

In the last period Balkan obtained their century, and more, as they kept control.

Balkan were missing Nemanjarad­icevic and Vasilj Lekovic. Starlites recovered Isaac Pace, but Miguel Falzon did not play.

Balkan were straining at the leash, from the start, making up an early 11-0 run, with a Bogdan Mrkejevic trey.

Julian Wait replied for Starlites, with his triple, but Balkan made a similar 11-0 run, to stride clear. Mirco Azzopardi responded for Starlites, as Balkan made their last session points.

The second session was still in Balkan hands. They had Zivojni Stankovic with his trey, as Starlites' Pace and Azzopardi netted triples for Starlites.

Balkan hit their adversarie­s hard, with a 20-1 run, and a Nikola Stankovic triple, for a heavy 63-16 advantage, at lemon time.

After the interval Balkan were still increasing their lead, but at a lower rate. They spread their hoops more among their players, with Starlites having Azzopardi with another trey.

Bogdan Ilic closed down Balkan's tally, for the session, as his side went 81-29 ahead. IN the last session Balkan were still aggressive, to claim their century midway through the period, with an Ivan Kumric hoop.

Starlites had Owen Psaila hitting two quick triples. Balkan's score kept improving till the end, as Pace sank his second triple, for Starlites.
