Marvels Power 43 Balkan Fusion 73 (8-15, 10-16, 12-23, 13-19)

Balkan were back, at the top of the standings, with their third seasonal victory over Marvels. Both sides fielded reduced sides, for various reasons.

Marvels were without Glen Borg, Nicola Guida, Reuben Curmi, Darren Debattista and Andrew Morris.

Balkan had Nemanja Radicevic, Bogdan Ilic, Alex Parunicic and Bogdan Mrkojevic missing, but recovered Veseli Lekovic.

Balkan began with a 10-0 advantage, before Marvels could start their own count, as Luke Azzopardi sank a triple.

Nikola Stankovic and Ivan Kumric extended Balkan's lead, till the end of the session.

In the next period another 8-2 run had Balkan easing further away.

Azzopardi netted his second trey, for Marvels, but Stankonvic kept up his scoring routine.

Still, Azzopardi nailed a third triple, but Balkan were 31-18 in front, at the interval.

After the break Balkan were mounting more pressure, and they put in a good 13-2 run, with a Kumric trey.

Marvels recovered for a while, making up a creditable 10-4 run, but Balkan ended the session with a three-hoop spread, for a 54-30 advantage.

In the last quarter Quintin Bugeja helped Marvels to cut down on their deficit. Balkan took over again, making up a solid 14-0 run.

Marvels managed a late 7-0 run, with a Bugeja triple, before Balkan closed down the match with a brace of hoops.
