Qormi hit White Hart for the proverbial bakers’ dozen. Fresh from their championship triumph they hit thirteen past White Hart, establishing a scoring record of 56 goals in a season, and were 4 – 0 up by the 12th minute. Jonathan Pace scored the first in the third minute. Juan Sarcia scored Qormi’s second four minutes later as a result of a penalty corner award. On 10 minutes Keith Bajada shot Qormi into a 3 – 0 lead and two minutes later John Williams grabbed his team’s fourth goal with a crisp shot from the top of the D.

A highly entertaining encounter with defences on top in the early stages and most of the action concentrated in mid field. On 20 minutes Young Stars went into a 1 – 0 lead when Luigi Spignolo netted. Rabat reacted and shared exchanges for the rest of the half, not taking advantage of a penalty corner award around the 30 minute mark. Two minutes later Ciarlo Antonelli picked up the pieces to push home from close range and equalise for Rabat, the game remaining evenly balanced at 1 – 1 at the interval.

The deadlocked position continued to prevail in the second half with the tempo raised as both teams strove to forge ahead.

Rabat did not take advantage of two penalty corner awards mid way through the half while Young Stars did likewise on the 54th and 62nd minute. Two minutes before the final whistle Rabat just missed the opportunity to go ahead while just seconds before the end Young Stars did not avail themselves of a penalty corner opportunity to leave this balanced encounter unchanged at 1–1 .
