Young Maltese Karting Driver takes part at the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy

Kylie Camilleri, a young Maltese Karting Driver member of the Karting Club Malta this weekend is taking part at the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

This important event is happening in France, on the internatio­nal circuit of Salbris with 150 Drivers.

The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy retains its usual pattern of three Competitio­ns.

Forty nations from five continents will be represente­d, with Italy having a clear numerical advantage with 47 Drivers, ahead of France (26) and the Netherland­s (10).

This is the 9th edition of the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy that remains faithful to the formula that has ensured its success in the discovery and training of young talents from around the world.

51 drivers from 40 countries will compete on equal terms on a onedesign Exprit / Vortex / LeCont kart.

This Competitio­n is supported by OTK Kart Group for chassis and engines, LeCont for tyres and OMP for clothing.

Kylie Camilleri is one of only three female drivers taking part in this academy.

In the meantime members of the Karting Club Malta are also active in Sicily, where Nicky Gauci, Neville Zammit and Luke Muscat will be competing at the 5th Round of the 2018 Regional Championsh­ip at the Kinisia Track in Trapani.
