Sicilian success for local club

The Msida Arrows Badminton Club recently travelled to Palermo in order to take part in the third edition of the "Trofeo delle Isole".

The event consisted of separate Team and Individual tournaments.

Each match in the team tournament consisted of Men's and Women's Singles as well as Men's and Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The event featured two Sicilian clubs: "Frecce Azzurre" and "Olimpia Club".

Msida Arrows defeated the former 5-0 and the latter 3-2 so as to win the team tournament unbeaten.

The Individual event featured three separate competitions: Women's Singles and Men's Singles as well as Men's Doubles.

The Msida players won all these three titles quite convincingly.

The players forming the Msida Arrows squad were: Michela Lia (Women's Singles winner); Alida Borg; Keith Mifsud (Men's Doubles winner); Edward Haber; Magnus Hoffman (Men's Singles and Doubles winner).

The Club expressed its considerable satisfaction at this excellent overall result which will remain in its records and will definitely be remembered with satisfaction in future.

It also confirmed its continued commitment to provide all its players with similar future opportunities for them to gauge their skills against foreign opposition; and this as part of their continued development.
