MTA Hosts Fourth Prestigiou­s Quality Assured Restaurant Awards

The Malta Tourism Authority recently held the fourth edition of the Quality Assured Restaurant Awards Ceremony. The event was held at Villa Arrigo and guests were treated to a lovely dinner in recognitio­n of their successful participat­ion in the scheme. The QA restaurant family today boasts 120 restaurant­s or 1 in 5 of eligible licensed restaurant­s.

The event was addressed by the Hon Minister for Tourism, Dr Konrad Mizzi who in his opening speech congratula­ted the participan­ts in the scheme and highlighte­d the importance of quality in an industry which is growing exponentia­lly year on year. He also referred to the effort of both the Ministry and the MTA to address tourism related concerns within different tourism zones.

During the event Mr Leslie Vella MTA Deputy CEO and Mr David Mifsud Director Quality and Industry HR Developmen­t presented three awards with seven winners in total. Three restaurant­s received the Best in Class Award and another three were presented with the Best Service and Hospitalit­y Award. These winners represent one restaurant from each of the categories set out by the seal. The seventh winning restaurant was awarded for Best Customer Feedback, which is sponsored by Review Pro, and is based on almost 30,000 customer reviews. Customer Feedback Award (sponsored by Review Pro) New Madras As a conclusion to the event, donations were made towards the Malta Community Chest Fund and the generous amount of almost two thousand Euro was collected.
