Finland’s Makela Numela Satu wins gold in ladies trap

Monday was the second day of qualificat­ions in The Ladies Trap Event of The ISSF World Cup Shotgun 2018.

The female Maltese Trap shooter managed 21,18, and 19 and started with a remarkable 23 yesterday morning followed by 18 for a total of 99/125.

Meanwhile in day one of the Trap event Maltese Trap shooter Brian Galea started with a fantastic straight of 25/25 followed by a 23/25, sharing sixth place after four shooters with 49/50.

William Chetcuti managed 22 and 21 for 43/50; Mario Buhagiar managed 22 and 19 for a total of 41/50; Gianluca Chetcuti managed 20 and 22 for 42/50; Nazzareno Attard managed 17 and 22 for 39/50

Makela Numella Satu from Finland won The Gold Medal with 118/125 - 44

Quooss Katrin from Germany won Silver with 117/125 - 41

Rabaya Ekatrina from Russia won Bronze with 116/125 - 30

Cormenier Carole from France placed 4th with 115/125 +s/off 27 - 27

Smith Penny from Australia placed 5th with 115+s/off 4 - 23

Rehak Stefecekov­a from Slovakia placed 6th with 115+s/off +26 - 17

The Mens Trap event continues this morning where each of the 111 shooters have to shoot another 75 clays to determine the top six to go for the final stages in the afternoon.

The public is invited to support the Maltese athletes where entrance is free at the spectators area at The Malta National Shooting Ranges at Ta Kandja, Siggiewi.
