Delegation from German Evangelical Church
Due to the current situation in the Mediterranean, a delegation from the German Evangelical Church is visiting Malta from today to Wednesday.
Church president Manfred Rekowski, the highest representative of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland and a migration expert for the Evangelical Church in Germany, will meet with civil rescue teams and also visit the air reconnaissance project ‘Moon-bird’.
The project is largely made possible by the Evangelical Church in Germany, which also supported the purchase of the aircraft.
Commemoration Ceremony
Date: Tuesday, 17 July Time: 4pm Location: Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (west wing) in Paola
Manfred Rekowski will be commemorating and praying at the graves of 24 refugees who died at sea and were buried at the cemetery in 2015. The ceremony will be broadcast live in Germany.

Details: Manfred Rekowski will be addressing the press on the value and importance of civilian rescue efforts to save refugee lives at sea and will be expressing the support of the Evangelical Church in Germany for the work of the rescue organisations Sea-Watch, Mission Lifeline and Sea-Eye.
