Finals start today

-

The Bank of Valletta Premier League and First Division finals (best of three) will commence today at the Tal-Qroqq Pool with the first game.

Defending champions San Giljan TUM Invest will be facing Neptunes Leo Vegas in the Premier League final, while Marsaxlokk Brown’s will be facing Birzebbuga Freeport in the First division final.

In the semifinals, San Giljan defeated Sirens and Neptunes got the better of their arch rivals Sliema. Both teams won on a 2-1 aggregate.

A keen and balanced match is anticipated this evening between these two Balluta Bay rivals.

The champions were made to fight hard by Sirens to reach this year’s final and will now be facing a resurgent Neptunes side which is intent on winning the title they last won in 2016.

On the other hand, the Saints are entertaining hopes of defending the title successfully for the second year in succession.

Earlier, Sliema Frank Salt Real Estate will be facing Sirens Greentube in the first match of three to determine who finishes third in the summer league this year.

The First Division final will see Marsaxlokk Brown’s taking on Birzebbuga Freeport in a southern derby which should also be keen and entertaining.
