Masters Football continue to attract well known players, such as Gareth Sciberras ex Malta and B’Kara who made his debut and helped Dingli to beat Rabat Mahmat 8-4.

With such experienced players as Carlo Mamo, Malcolm Licari, Gareth Sciberras and others, the team again will be one of the protoganists this season.

Before the break, Dingli had already a good lead of 5-1 with Malcolm Licari getting four goals.

In the second half Rabat after suffering another two goals, managed to score three to make the result more respectable.

Marsa White Stars easily beat Mosta Shaggy 14-1. They were so much superier against a team which had several regular players misssing, Marsa could have reached a higher score if they were not denied by Mosta goalkeeper on several occasions. Marsa again had Ribic in excellent form and combining well with James Galea and Gilbert Scerri to create good chances.

They now play Dingli in the semi final. This must be the game of he tournament and the players from both sides shouuld delight all those watching. Ribic was the star of the game, also scoring no less than six.

Zurrieq Wolves in a preliminary game surprised Valletta Masters to beat them after the taking of penalties. Normal time finished 2-2.

It was a balanced game and for a long time in the second half no team created any dangerous moves.

Zurrieq Wolves later in the week went on to beat Targa Gap 3-2 to reach the semi finals and will now play Melita Celtics. Against Targa Gap it was only in the last minute that they scored the winner by Alex Abdilla. It was a delightful game between two determined sides.

Athough you may not judge a team after only one or two games, it seems that both teams will have a positive season.
