Acoustic guitar extraordinaire to perform at the Robert Samut Hall

-

Tao Productions, a household name in the local music scene, are back with a unique show that will feature UK-based singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm at the Robert Samut Hall.

Jon Gomm is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, using an acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, bass lines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead.

His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once-seennever-forgotten, two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar.

Jon is hailed by many as one of the most successful, gifted and inspirational guitar players of our time. Stephen Fry has called him a genius and the Canadian National Post has described his songs as “masterpieces inflected with tribal rhythms, pop melodic sense and Gomm’s flowing, draped-over vocals — that would surely make even Eric Clapton blush.”

The concert is limited to 200 seats and tickets are now available from trackagescheme.com or through the ticket hotline on +356 7900 5055

Tao Productions also invites aspiring musicians, professionals and music enthusiasts to attend a masterclass with Jon Gomm taking place on 2 December at Offbeat, Valletta. Bookings can be made via taomalta.com or by calling +356 7900 5055.
