Zurrieq and Xghajra remain at the top Mdina K-Marsaskala 5-0

Zurrieq and Xghajra remain at the top of the standings after the fifth round of matches, with Zurrieq winning the top of the table clash with Dingli Swallows.

Three teams were joint leaders before this weekend and the clash between two of these, Dingli and Zurrieq was the most attractive clash of the programme.

Zurrieq emerged winners from this direct clash with a Bojovic first half goal and a brace from Terence Scerri after the break.

Xghajra Tornadoes kept the pace with Zurrieq with a nap hand win bottom of the table side Mtarfa. An identical 5-0 win was obtained by Mdina Knights against Marsaskala.

Mtarfa and Gharghur are the only sides still in search of their first point this season. As mentioned Mtarfa received a drubbing by Xghajra, whilst Gharghur were beaten by Msida 2-1, with Msida’s winner coming in the dying minutes of the game.
