Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason live in Concert this summer

Rock ’N Malta have announced a concert by nine other than Pink Floyd’s founding member Nick Mason and his band Saucerful of Secrets live in concert on 10 July in St George’s Square, Valletta.

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets featuring Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken is a unique opportunity to experience Pink Floyd’s celebrated and significant early body of work played live including songs from albums The Piper At The Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful Of Secrets.

Very few bands are as culturally iconic as Pink Floyd. With an estimated 250 million records worldwide, Pink Floyd are one of the best selling music artists of all time. Nick Mason is the only Pink Floyd member to have been featured on all of their studio albums, performing on all of their albums as well as all of their live shows.

He has co-written some of Pink Floyd’s most popular compositions such as Echoes and Time and will be his first live musical outing since Pink Floyd played at the 2005 Live 8 concert in London.

Artistic Director of Rock ‘N Malta Lou Bondi comments: “The Rock ’N Malta series of concerts is now in its third year, hosting a number of concerts with an eclectic mix of artists. This year we are proud to have amongst our acts Nick Mason, the drummer and heartbeat of Pink Floyd. That we managed to get such an artist of stature shows that hard work bears fruit especially when it involves bringing together the public and private sector.

“A concert of classic Pink Floyd songs from the psychedelic era, played by one of founding members will definitely draw the crowds and augurs well for the future of the Rock ’N Malta series.”
