Vittoriosa and Mqabba earned their point of the season after two successive defeats in an entertaining 11 draw. The game failed to lift off in the first half but was full of excitement on the resumption.
Vittoriosa took a 14th minute lead, thanks to great strike by Guerrero from the edge of the area. Minutes later however the Vittoriosa striker was involved in a violent collision with Mqabba goalkeeper Tabone and both had to be substituted.
Just before the break Mqabba went close with a Ferreira freekick hitting the crossbar. On the resumption Mqabba were a different proposition and stormed forward in search of the equaliser. They again hit the crossbar through a Ferreira deflected shot and eventually drew level on 67 minutes when Irvin Abela headed past his goalkeeper in an attempt to clear.
Sixty seconds later Vittoriosa almost regained the lead with a Keith Vella shot smashing against the crossbar, but Mqabba were twice denied a certain goal when two headers from John Micallef were cleared off the goal line by Dario Tabone and Irvin Abela who made amends for his own goal.
