Slovak Beach Handball Champions in Malta to finalise their preparations for the Champions’ Cup

-

Sport Club Senec have earned the right to participate in the Champions’ Cup by becoming Slovak champions this summer. They managed to achieve this feat in both male and female categories. The girls from Senec have won the Slovak championship multiple times in the last years while for their male counterparts, this will be their first appearance in the Champions’ Cup.

As a final preparation for this competition, Sport Club Senec decided to come over to Malta to have a short training camp combined with friendlies against Maltese National Selections. This is the first time that the Malta Handball Association will be hosting a foreign beach handball team locally. Sport Club Senec will be arriving in Malta between the 21st and 23rd of October. They will then depart from the Maltese Islands for their quest in obtaining good results in the Champions’ Cup in Catania between the 24th and 30th of October.

The Malta Handball Association is very pleased to host a team of such calibre. This opportunity testifies for the Association’s commitment to continue developing not only the traditional indoor handball, but also beach handball. The Malta Handball Association is also very pleased to have an opportunity to host and have friendlies for both the male and female sector at the same time. Sport Club Senec have chosen Malta due to the good relations built in previous tournaments. Apart from that, being so close to Catania and having the ideal climate conditions, made it a natural choice for them to choose the Maltese Islands.

Games and training sessions will be held in Birzebbuga. The friendly games against the Maltese National Selections will be played on Monday 21st October at 6pm for both male and female. The female teams will be testing each other again on Tuesday 22nd October at the same time.
