Brian Galea wins the Grazio Vella & Bros Trap Trophy

Brian Galea won his first competitio­n of the season when he claimed the Grazio Vella & Bros Trap Trophy at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

This was the second shoot of the Trap Tournament being organised by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation.

The Finals of this Tournament will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.

Galea was joined on the podium by Emanuel Zammit and by Nicholas who finished in the second and in the third place respective­ly.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualificat­ion scores were:

Brian Galea with the score of 46/50 + 1 shoot-off, Emanuel Zammit 46/50 + 0 shoot-off, Gianluca Chetcuti 45/50, Alan Abela hit 44/50, Nicholas Carabott 43/50 + 4 shoot-off and George Mifsud with the score of 43/50 + 3 shoot-off.

The Finals results were;

1st Brian Galea 18/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 10/10, total score 41/50

2nd Emanuel Zammit 20/25 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 6/10, total score 38/50

3rd Nicholas Carabott 22/25 + 4/5 + 1/5 + 4/5, total score 31/40

4th Gianluca Chetcuti 18/25 + 3/5 + 4/5, total score 25/35

5th George Mifsud 18/25 + 1/5, total score 19/30

6th Alan Abela 13/25, total score 13/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualificat­ions with the following scores;

Class A

1st Brian Galea 46/50 (Countback Rule)

2nd Emanuel Zammit 46/50 3rd Gianluca Chetcuti 45/50

Class B

1st Alan Abela 44/50

2nd Raymond Micallef 42/50 3rd Christophe­r Farrugia 40/50

Class C

1st Peter Muscat 35/50

2nd Ryan Bugeja 34/50

3rd Carmel Grech 32/50

The MSSF Trap Programme continues on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2020 with the 2nd Trap Selection Shooting.
