Driving licence application process now online

-

Transport Malta has launched an online portal, https://licenzji-xu

fiera.gov.mt/, that allows the public to apply directly for a driving learner permit and to book their driving tests.

This portal will facilitate the application process and reduce the need for applicants to fill in physical forms or call in person at the Authority’s offices, a Transport Malta statement read.

“Motoring schools and medical doctors will also have the facility of accessing this portal in order to apply, certify or submit any necessary documentation on behalf of the applicants.”

Students can now also apply online to sit for the theory exam.

Earlier this week, Transport Malta announced that, following a hiatus of a few weeks because of COVID-19, both theory and practical tests for driving could resume, with added precautions.

“In fact, students can only sit for the theory exam after booking. Thus, this initiative will help students easily book the test online.”

The theory tests will now be held in a new building in Triq Nazzjonali, Ħamrun. “The building is more spacious and provides all the facilities enabling the students to sit for the exam with ease of mind. The site follows the guidelines provided by the Health Authorities to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Students who want to book the theory exam can phone on 21227190 or visit the site https://maltatheorytest.com, directly.”

“These initiatives are a few of the measures Transport Malta is implementing to provide a faster service and better accessibility while improving the quality of its operations.”
