Brian Galea wins the Steve Azzopardi Trap Trophy

Brian Galea claimed the Steve Azzopardi Trap Trophy TR3 at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

This competitio­n was organised on three qualificat­ion rounds followed by the finals.

Galea was joined on the podium by William Chetcuti and by James Galea Jr. who finished in the second and in the third place respective­ly.

The Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualificat­ion scores were:

James Galea Jr. with the score of 68/ 75 + 1 shoot- off, Nicholas Carabott 68/ 75+ 0 shoot- off, Brian Galea 67/ 75 + 3 shoot- off, William Chetcuti hit 67/ 75 + 2 shoot- off, Nico Sciberras managed 67/75 + 0 shoot-off and Gianluca Chetcuti 66/ 75.

The Final results were:

1st Brian Galea 21/25 + 5/5 + 5/ 5 + 5/ 5 + 10/ 10, total score 46/50

2nd William Chetcuti 22/25 + 5/ 5 + 4/ 5 + 5/ 5 + 8/ 10, total score 44/50

3rd James Galea Jr. 21/25 + 4/ 5 + 4/ 5 + 5/ 5, total score 34/40

4th Nicholas Carabott 17/25 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 25/35

5th Gianluca Chetcuti 19/25 + 2/5, total score 21/30

6th Nico Sciberras 16/ 25, total score 16/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualificat­ion rounds with the following scores:

Class A

1st Nicholas Carabott 68/75 (Countback Rule)

2nd James Galea Jr. 68/75 3rd Nico Sciberras 67/75

Class B

1st Mariah Busuttil 62/75 2nd Michael Grech 58/75 3rd Noel Attard 57/75

Class C

1st Ryan Bugeja 63/75

2nd Lee Grima 62/75
