James Galea wins the 6th stage of the MSSF Trap Tournament

James Galea Jr. was the overall winner of the sixth stage of the Trap Tournament that was organised at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges.

Paul Formosa and Gianluca Chetcuti joined Galea on the podium as they finished in the second and in the third place respective­ly.

A total of thirty shooters participat­ed in this competitio­n.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualificat­ion scores were:

Paul Formosa with the score of 45/50 + 4 shoot-off, Gianluca Chetcuti scored 45/50 + 3 shootoff, Micheal Grech 44/50 + 3 shoot-off, James Galea Jr. managed 44/50 + 2 shoot-off, Stephen Vella hit 44/50 + 1 shoot-off and Nazzareno Attard with the score of 42/50 + 3 shoot-off secured a place in the final stages after eliminatin­g Nicholas Carabott, Nico Sciberras and Christophe­r Vella in a fourway shoot-off.

The Finals results were:

1st James Galea Jr. 23/25 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 10/10, total score 46/50

2nd Paul Formosa 22/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 10/10, total score 45/50

3rd Gianluca Chetcuti 17/25 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 3/5, total score 29/40

4th Stephen Vella 19/25 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 26/35

5th Micheal Grech 17/25 + 4/5, total score 21/30

6th Nazzareno Attard 14/25, total score 14/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualificat­ion rounds with the following scores:

Class A

1st Gianluca Chetcuti 45/50 (Countback Rule)

2nd Paul Formosa 45/50

3rd Stephen Vella 44/50

Class B

1st Michael Grech 44/50

2nd Noel Attard 40/50 (Countback Rule)

3rd Paul Gatt 40/50

Class C

1st Ryan Bugeja 41/50

2nd Daniel Camilleri 37/50

3rd Stephen Bartolo 35/50 The MSSF Trap Programme continues with the Santa Marija Grand Prix on Saturday 15 and on Sunday 16 August 2020 at the Southern Shooting Club.
