Crowdfunding for murder victim Ivor Maciejowski raising funds for memorial, court expenses launched

-

A crowdfunding campaign launched by the family of Sliema murder victim Ivor Maciejowski is raising funds towards his funeral, a memorial, and to support his family and friends in their pursuit of justice.

The campaign aims to raise £20,000, and has already raised almost £8,000 towards that target.

Maciejowski and his partner Christian Pandolfino were murdered in their home in Sliema last August, in what is being described as a break-in gone wrong.

Three people – an Albanian by the name of Daniel Muka, a Macedonian by the name of Viktor Dragomanski, and a Dane by the name of Jesper Kristiansen – are under arrest in connection with the murder.

“During Ivor’s wonderful but sadly short life, he was always a bright light, shining strong, smiling and full of energy, touching many with his beautiful soul and kindness,” the fundraiser reads.

“Ivor was particularly passionate about art and the people he loved around him. He always gave his time selflessly to all those who knew him so well. Born and raised in the UK and a British national, he was equally loved and adored in his adopted Malta.”

“Ivor’s family have had the unbearable task of repatriating Ivor, organising his funeral and trying to come to terms with their loss. There is still so much more to do. The next step for all of us is to support the family in facing those responsible for taking Ivor’s life,” it continues.

The fundraiser reads that the funds raised will “also go towards family representation in court in Malta, ensuring we have justice for Ivor and justice for all those united in grief.”

Any funds left over from the fundraiser will be donated to charity.

Meanwhile, a Facebook group commemorating Ivor Maciejowksi has also been set up by his brother, Tom, bringing together those who knew the man and encouraging them to remember him and share their memories of him with others.
