Cesare Prandelli back to manage Fiorentina

-

Fiorentina have announced the appointment of Cesare Prandelli who returns to the Artemio Franchi to replace Beppe Iachini.

“ACF Fiorentina announce Giuseppe Iachini has been replaced by Cesare Prandelli as the team’s head coach,” Fiorentina’s official stateent reads.

“Beppe Iachini had to manage a particularly difficult situation during the last season and, in a very complicated general context, managed to raise the fate of the team by finishing the championship in tenth place.

“Unfortunately, after a careful and scrupulous analysis of the start of this new season and the results obtained to date, the club believes that the best solution is to dismiss the current coach.

“The President and the entire Viola Board wish to express their gratitude to Beppe Iachini and all his staff for the commitment and professionalism they have shown since their arrival and wish him the best professional success for his career.”

Fiorentina chose Cesare Prandelli as his successor. Prandelli, born in Orzinuovi on August 19, 1957, has already inextricably linked his career as a coach to the purple colours, leading Fiorentina from 2005 to 2010, a period during which he qualified twice for the Champions League and reached a semi-final of the UEFA cup

Prandelli then coached the Italian national team with which he reached the EURO final in 2012.

Prandelli will direct his first training session at the Centro Sportivo Davide Astori this afternoon.

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso said Cesare Prandelli is 'the best option for the Fiorentina role.'
