Fifth round of Gozo Motocross Championsh­ip

The Gozo Motorcross Associatio­n organised its fifth round of the Gozo Motocross Championsh­ip 2021 at Ta’ Xħajma Track. Races started at 1pm and the afternoon proved to be an extremely enjoyable experience both for riders and spectators alike amidst many rules and regulation­s according to the Health authoritie­s protocols which are in place to safeguard all those present from Covid 19.

It has been a remarkable full day of racing! 22 riders, including two females, participat­ed in today's Round 5 as challenge after challenge took place in each of the 18 races organised by the GMA.

The highlight of the day was once again the Junior Class. Following a set of three heats, the 6 to 11 year old riders captured the moment!

As usual the event was divided into four categories. In Class A ,current champion 2020 Steve Xuereb achieved maximum points, followed by David Dimech and Mario Cauchi respective­ly.

In Category B, Jorn Stellini filled second place. He was beaten by Robert Spiteri who fought relentless­ly to head this class. Matthew Zammit entered third.

In Class C, Jurgen Attard, 2020 Champion in this Class achieved first place.

Young Mark Camilleri placed second followed by Maltese rider William Sant.

Meanwhile Class D was dominated once again by Luke and Paul Caruana. Paul Caruana won first place. He was followed by Luke while newcomer Chris Tyler Mizzi managed to come in third.

The Enduro class was won by Clyden Formosa. Joseph Gauci came in second while Samuel Gauci came in third place.

GMA training coach, Scott Donovan presented trophies and medals which were sponsored by Grima Service Station and Grima Fuel Supply, to the winners

Gozo Motocross Associatio­n announces that the quarter final of the Gozo Motocross Championsh­ip 2021 fuelledbyE­nemed will take place on the 7th March 2021.

GMA would like to announce that the event is closed to the general public. Only those with a special permit can attend.
