‘Difficult decisions’ within the PN need to be made, Bernard Grech says

-

Opposition and PN leader Bernard Grech has said that he will be making “difficult decisions” within the PN, after two survey results were published on Sunday.

Grech acknowledged the “encouraging” results which are being shown in surveys.

“Without a doubt, if one has to see the results of the surveys, they are encouraging; both the one conducted by MaltaToday and by Vincent Marmara. Both of them indicate that the PN has made huge leaps, where in 6 months, we managed to decrease the gap between the PL and PN by more than half.”

However, the PN leader noted that there are some crucial strides left in order to reach the goal of where the PN wants to be.

“We are not there yet, but it is clear that the electorate is sending a message that it is happy with the changes that are taking place within the party.”

Grech said that amidst the “progress the surveys are showing”, they are also showing that “a few decisions need to be taken.”

“I will be taking these decisions, which is the next phase, as with every change that happens in institutions. First, we saw to decreasing the gap between PL and PN, we included more youths and women in the party. Now is the time to make decisions, and some of these decisions won’t be popular or easy to make,” he said.

“When you need to decide on the road ahead, you need to also make the tough decisions. I will be taking these decisions without fear or favour, because that is what is needed in order for this party to become an alternative government.”
