Superstar player claims nearly €200,000 prize with numbers on boat engine

A regular Maltco player can call himself lucky as a set of numbers he came across written on a piece of mechanical part of a boat which he found on the seabed whilst swimming, won him the amazing 2nd category jackpot €196,457 in the Superstar lottery.

The lucky player who purchased the winning ticket from Ħamrun, matched the first five drawn numbers 11 – 21 – 26 – 22 – 12 to win the 2nd category of Superstar. The Superstar number for this draw was 7, which was not guessed by the punter.

Visibly delighted with his finding, he recounted that it is the norm for him to participate in different Maltco lottery games with various numbers he encounters during his daily life, such as door numbers, numbers on boats etc. Automatically, as soon as he saw a set of numbers written on a square piece of boat engine, he immediately took it to shore to write down a combination of numbers to chance his luck in a Maltco lottery.

He participated with the same set of numbers in two popular draws, Super 5 and Superstar, with the latter resulting in winning the 2nd category Jackpot.

Interviewed by a member of the marketing team at Maltco’s head office, the cheerful winner expressed the different emotions he felt as soon as he noticed that he won the 2nd category Superstar jackpot. He had to check the results on Maltco’s Facebook page as he could not believe he matched all numbers whilst watching the live draw on TV.

While claiming the highest 2nd category SUPERSTAR jackpot ever won, the winner said that he will be sharing the money with his family.

Together with this amazing winning, there were 1,001 other winners who won in the seven winning categories of the Superstar draw 136 held on 25 June.
