Luxol and Valletta face off in play-offs final

Luxol and Valletta will face each other in the Enemed Futsal Premier League final as they saw off their respective opponents in the semifinal.

Luxol St Andrews had a comfortabl­e outing against Ta' Xbiex Futsal after winning 6-0 and register a 12-1 aggregate score.

Gabriel Dobre's boys were in fine form as Matthew Attard and Everton Veve notched a brace while Maicon da Silva Gaiewski and Mark Zammit also put their names on the score sheet.

Valletta didn't find the going easy in the other semifinal against University of Malta although in the end they still won 2-1 for a 65 aggregate score.

The Citizens had a better performanc­e after the 4-4 result of the first leg and used their experience to score in the crucial moments of the match.

The Students' surged ahead through Cleaven Portelli to establish a 1-0 advantage before the break. In the second half, the Lilywhites were motivated to get the most important qualificat­ion as they turned defeat into victory after goals by Jhonn Anderson and Luke Gatt.

Meanwhile, Siġġiewi and St George's are the finalists of the Enemed Challenger League as they saw off their respective opponents.

Siġġiewi stunned Premier League club Mellieħa as they won 4-3 in an extremely exciting semifinal. The Stripes were determined to get the most desired qualificat­ion with Shataizan Zarb in fine form as he netted a brace. Ryan Muscat and Wallace Oliveira were also on the mark.

The Northerner­s pulled three goals back through a Dusan Petrovic double and Marinko Solarevic.

Faisal Alnakuoo was the main protagonis­t for St George's in the massive 7-1 scoreline against Naxxar Lions. The latter found the going really tough with Alnakuoo making a mess of their defence as he netted a poker with Jose Luis Lopes, Karl Luke Schembri and Liam Caruana completing the score for the Cottonera side.

Jose Luis Godar Pereira reduced the score for Naxxar Lions.
