A Creative Learning Centre at the Primary School in Senglea has been inaugurated at Santa Margerita College, which will be used by educators to deliver STEAM education in creative and practical ways to the school’s students, government announced.

The Centre is equipped with technological innovations that enable students to experience innovative learning related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Education Minister Clifton Grima said that this is another centre that aims to deliver more creative and interactive learning to students, through which government is not only providing education but also enhancing their creative and practical thinking.

Grima spoke about the importance of providing our children with all the opportunities that lead to a comprehensive, equal, and inclusive education by creating educational environments that support such goals.

“We are creating initiatives to achieve our goals, which give priority to the education of our children,” Grima said, explaining that this centre focuses on important subjects that are not only academic, but also form the basis for various careers.

The centre was made possible with the help of various members of the school administration and educators who contributed their commitment and determination to create a “Class of the Future.”

The unique learning environment uses various technology tools and resources to create a dynamic atmosphere, the government statement read. “The centre is designed to be adaptable and provides educators with the flexibility to create a unique environment that can be modified to meet the diverse needs of each individual in the classroom.”

Grima said that the space allows students to explore, research, and expand their knowledge by creating digital stories, animated stories, and also exploring the role of Artificial Intelligence in the learning process.

In addition to the resources focused on robotics, that also enable personalized learning for each individual, the goal of the centre is primarily to unleash the potential of each student holistically, the ministry said.

This is achieved by providing opportunities for children to express their creativity through exploration, coordination, collaboration, and innovation, in addition to their academic learning, it said.
