Sevilla to face Roma in Europa League final

West Ham and Fiorentina reach Conference League final

-

Sevilla will face Roma in the Europa League final at the end of May, whilst West Ham United will take FC Basel in the final of the Europa Conference League to be played on 7 June.

Sevilla reached yet again an‐ other Europa League final after eliminating Juventus after extra time.

After the 1‐1 score in Turin, Juventus took the lead on 65 minutes through Vlahovic but Suso levelled matters six min‐ utes later.

In extra time Lamela scored the winner with a great header.

Roma held out under siege for a goalless draw with Bayer Lev‐ erkusen, sending them into the Europa League Final thanks to the first leg 1‐0 win.

The Giallorossi won the first leg 1‐0 thanks to an Edoardo Bove goal and the injury crisis was starting to calm down, with only Marash Kumbulla and Rick Karsdorp out, although Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling and Stephan El Shaarawy were at best ready for the bench. The hosts lost Robert Andrich and Odilon Kossounou to serious in‐ juries at the Olimpico, joining Patrik Schick on the treatment table.

Lorenzo Pellegrini fired wide early on, but Bayer Leverkusen had a huge chance when Moussa Diaby got away on an inspired slide‐rule Florian Wirtz pass and from a tricky angle managed to thump the crossbar, as Roger Ibanez did just enough to make it difficult.

Rui Patricio got down for a low one‐handed save on the Demirbay daisy‐cutter, then Az‐ moun incredibly drilled wide from 12 yards after a lucky ric‐ ochet fell into his path.

Zeki Celik joined the injury list and Lorenzo Pellegrini was limping badly in the final stages, which included eight minutes of stoppages under siege.

In the Conference League West Ham beat Alkmaar with a Fornals last gap goal to qualify 3‐1 on aggregate, and Fiorentina defeated Basel 3‐1 after extra time to qualify 4‐3 on aggregate.
