Luxol achieve dominant victory over Swieqi to maintain title challenge

Luxol St Andrew's achieved an easy 8‐0 victory against Swieqi United in the Enemed Elite Round to maintain their hunt for the title.

The team from St Andrew's dominated the match from start to finish with Swieqi who were a disappoint­ing lot.

Celino Alves, who was return‐ ing after a long injury, scored twice, with Matthew Attard em‐ ulating his team mate. Mark Za‐ mmit, Emil Raducu, Michael Borg and Andre Ciancio added more goals for the winners.

Referees: Jude Amin Utulu and Stephen Vella.

ŽRQ Bormla returned to win‐ ning ways after beating Birżebbuġa St Peter's Futsal 3‐2.

Bruno de Souza put the Cospicua side on top so Sean Par‐ nis equalized for Birżebbuġa. Karl Sciortino once again put his team in the lead with the Sea‐ southsider­s finding the equalizer from Armando Gjepali.

However, the last word be‐ longed to ŽRQ Bormla who scored the goal that gave them the three points thanks to their experience­d player Jovica Milijic.

In the Enemed Challenger League, Ta' Xbiex Izola Bank won the challenge at the top of the table while surpassing Marsaskala Futsal after a score of 7‐1.

Stefi Cale and Juan David Bautista Conde scored a double each for Ta' Xbiex with Liam Caruana, Andres Rodriguez and Ryan Debono netting for their team.

Ayoub Ahmad scored the only goal for Iskalin.

The Maltese under‐19 team won a good 7‐2 against Gżira United Santa Margherita.

Collin Sammut was the protag‐ onist for the Maltese youngsters when he scored a hat‐trick while Nathan David Balzan achieved a personal double. Miguel Camil‐ leri and Anson Fenech scored more goals for Malta U19.

The Maroons found the net twice through Yessous Camilleri.

Even the Maltese under‐18 team had the satisfacti­on of get‐ ting three important points after beating Sliema Futsal 5‐3.

It was not an easy game for the under 18 team although they had an inspiratio­nal Brave Azzopardi as he scored a brace. Isaac Vella, Samuel Christoph Abela and Maximilian Tomasuolo were also among the scorers.

The Blues reduced the margin of the score with a triple by Juan Morales Poveda.
