University of Malta ACJ Group and Luxol St Andrew's obtained their first win in the

University of Malta ACJ Group and Luxol St Andrew's obtained their first victory in the first leg of Enemed Futsal League play‐ offs semifinals after defeating their respective opponents.

The most balanced game was the one between University of Malta ACJ Group and Swieqi United with the former winning 2‐1.

Despite the defeat, Swieqi were very good especially in their fast counter attacks.

Raimundo Da Silva Nonato surged University of Malta ahead with Swieqi equalizing through Marcelo Alarcon.

In the second half the game re‐ mained balanced although David Bobokhidze's boys scored the winning goal through Steven Camilleri.

Champions Luxol St Andrew's overcame the tough challenge given by ŽRQ Bormla so much so that they won them 9‐6.

Gabriel Dobre's troops had an initial advantage of 5‐1 at the be‐ ginning of the first half although the Cottonera side were improv‐ ing and always reduced the scor‐ ing margin although they could do little to avoid the defeat.

Celino Alves, Mark Zammit and Andy Mangion scored twice each with Everton da Silva Santos, Maicon and Michael Borg adding more goals for their team.

ŽRQ Bormla had Rodrigo da Silva notching a hat‐trick while Mohammed Elamari scored two goals with Karl Luke Schembri who also added his name among the scorers.

From the Enemed Challenger League, the Maltese under‐19 team and Marsaskala Legends Futsal got a place in the semi‐fi‐ nals of this competitio­n after achieving some positive results.

The Maltese youngsters beat Gżira United Santa Margerita 4‐ 2.

Collin Sammut scored twice while Benjamin Bonello Ghio and Neil Gauci also found the net.

Yessous Camilleri scored a dou‐ ble for Gzira.

Marsaskala Legends Futsal se‐ cured a place in the last four of the competitio­n after a score of 7‐5 against Sliema Wanderers Futsal.

Bertram Azzopardi and Amir Ashtiyani notched a brace apiece with Craig Pickard, Pavlo Beke‐ sha and Josef Balzan also on tar‐ get.

Andre Joe Cutajar had a hat‐ trick in his name for Sliema with James Brincat and Jean Leite Lopes also reducing the score for their team.
