A potential that, today, has transforme­d into a fully-fledged multi-million industry, with an increase of monthly viewers up to 27% year on year,” he continued.

In total, the number of eSports enthusiast­s watching their favourite games each month adds up to around 115 million.

“Where igaming is concerned, most of the well-establishe­d online betting sites are already offering specific eSport landing pages displaying choices on the latest tournament­s and best odds. In fact, according to a recent report, Pinnacle’s eSports segment is the ‘seventh biggest market in terms of volume’, making it bigger than gold and rugby,” stated Mr Portelli.
