First prize award for poster at internatio­nal congress

The poster by Dr Tabitha Dreyfuss and Prof. JoAnn Cassar was awarded joint first prize during the 13th Internatio­nal Congress on Stone Deteriorat­ion and Conservati­on, Science and Art: a Future for Stone held in Glasgow.

The poster was based on one crucial part of Dr Dreyfuss’ research on the treatment of Globigerin­a limestone with oxalates. Her poster and publicatio­n in the congress proceeding­s was titled The Natural Weathering of an Artifi- cially Induced Calcium Oxalate Patina on Soft Limestone.

Dr Dreyfuss is a Post-Doctoral researcher at the University of Malta, Department of Conservati­on and Built Heritage, under the Reach High Scholars Programme, part-financed by the European Union, Operationa­l Programme II, Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 Investing in human capital to create more opportunit­ies and promote the wellbeing of society, European Social Fund.
