2016 sees BOV employees put forward over 600 suggestions
Bank of Valletta employees put forward 634 suggestions in the course of 2016 through the BOV Employee Engagement scheme. The bank recently organised an event during which it recognised the input of its people who forwarded their suggestions to improve the organisation.
The BEE scheme encourages employees to put forward their ideas about how to enhance the bank’s service offering in order to enhance customer experience and increase operational efficiency. The suggestions received are then reviewed by colleagues who are well-versed in the respective area.
In a brief address to those present, Mario Mallia, the bank’s CEO said: “The bank has always recognised that its people are its greatest asset. The more dynamic our environment becomes, the more critical your role is. Your expertise and experience translate into a wealth of knowledge that helps us to move forward as an organisation, while bridging the gap with the different stakeholder groups.”
Ernest J. Agius, chief Operations officer presented the awards to the top three suggestors. The award for top suggestor was given to Maria Ancilleri, with Rita Savona and Brian Baldacchino runnerups. The bank also recognised the contribution of the reviewers who evaluate the suggestions put forward and give their feedback regarding its feasibility and viability.
While congratulating the winners, Mr Agius confirmed that 77% of the suggestions received have already been implemented. He thanked the employees for their constant support and valuable input highlighting that: “The activity we witness in the BEE scheme, which has now been running for several years, is testament to your enthusiasm and dedication. This scheme is your tool to put forward your suggestions, so that together we can help make Bank of Valletta stronger and more innovative for all stakeholders.”
