Q & A with Deloitte Digital

Following on from last week’s article introducing Deloitte Digital after their launch in Malta, our questions focus on their vision of ‘digital’ and what it means for business.

-

Where is the market going and how are we meeting those needs?

Whether you are talking about drones, robotics, wearables, connected homes, connected cars, artificial intelligence, or the API of you – you’re talking about the kinds of things that bring rapid and exponential change to the marketplace. Digital has already empowered the consumer in more ways than most of us imagined. Which means businesses have to respond to their growing expectations. So where is the market going? A huge portion needs to catch up and fast. Digital can no longer be seen as a siloed tactic, but rather a foundational piece of strategy and operations. That’s where we come in. We help businesses challenge convention, drive change, and solve problems of today and tomorrow. We do this by combining deep industry insight, creative design, and technology know how.

What gaps do you see in your ability to deliver digital, and what are your plans to close these gaps?

Not only have we developed a new model for a new age, we’re a market leader delivering a depth and breadth of services that no other agency or consultancy can match. That said, we are always on the lookout for what’s new, what’s now, and what’s next, and what’s best. We have a legacy of attracting top talent adopt an aggressive approach to anticipating and fulfilling emerging market needs which will continue.

How is the new market offering different from Deloitte Consulting’s existing offer- ings?

Again, the difference is in our approach. We see digital, not as a siloed tactic, but as an integrated, foundation for true business transformation. We start with what digital technology makes possible and what the digital consumer demands.

Why does Deloitte Digital have a different brand than Deloitte Consulting?

Actually, the name says it all. We take a DIGITAL first approach to all business problems. Yes, we’re supported by the expertise and knowledge of Deloitte Consulting, but the way we approach the market is different. We offer a new model for a new age and we wanted to make sure that was clear from the first introduction.

Who do you see as the competition?

In pioneering a new model for a new age, we fill the gap between agencies and consultancies - we are the experts in integrating CIO and CMO efforts. Our capabilities (and thus our competition) spans from traditional consultants to traditional agencies. Quite honestly, no one else does what we do. We’re focused intensely on our customers and their evolving needs, not on the competition. In addition, we are repeatedly recognised as a global leader in digital strategy consulting and services by many analysts including: Gartner, Forrester and IDC.

What’s next?

Digital is a cultural change. It inspires changes in the way we work, how we relate (and how we expect to be related to). It touches everything from our expectations of what is property to ideas of security, and what achievement looks like. In the digital world, disruption goes deeper than technology (human capital and training). It’s a cultural change that needs to be addressed - Deloitte Digital leads that change by delivering digital technology that understands human interactions and the context they are in.

A last word?

Digital is enabling business transformation at an unprecedented rate. It is impacting business models and redefining the way companies interact and engage with clients, while also becoming an intrinsic and essential part of their service offering. There is no doubt that those businesses that do not leverage digital to their advantage will fall behind to competitors who do. Being at the forefront of this wave of change and in an enabling capacity translates into exciting times ahead for our clients and Deloitte Digital in Malta.
