BOV employees on trek

-

Trekking has become a favourite recreational activity for several BOV employees. On a rare sunny Sunday in February, a group of BOV staff and family members spent the day exploring the whereabouts of Selmun, going up and down muddy clay hills, discovering hidden paths and carpets of beautiful narcissus flowers whilst enjoying the beauty of the winter Maltese landscape.

These trekking ventures are only one of many social activities organised by the bank’s Sports and Social Club. It was set up years ago to organise social events aimed at bringing together the BOV family that numbers over 1,500 employees, away from their office.

This Club is made up of a com- mittee of BOV employees, who voluntarily organise activities for their colleagues as well as coordinate sections in various sports disciplines like football, athletics and tennis.

Speaking after their latest event, Claudette Pace Vice President of the Club explained, “Over the years, we have witnessed positive response from our people. We tweak our calendar of events regularly, based on the feedback we receive from our colleagues.”

The Sports and Social Club also organises activities for children of BOV employees, including the Mini Chef course and the arts course.

The activities organised by the BOV Sports and Social Club are open to employees as well as their families and friends.
